Set any scene.
Play any role.
Three fields. Infinite possibilities.
Define the scenario, your persona, and theirs.
Most AI chat platforms give you a character and hope it fits. AnyConversation gives you three simple fields that let you set up any conversation you can imagine -- without needing a pre-made character at all.
Three fields, total control
Scenario
Set the scene. Where are you? What's happening? What just happened? The scenario gives context that shapes the entire conversation.
Example
"It's 2 AM at a 24-hour diner. Rain is hammering the windows. You've been sitting alone for an hour when someone slides into the booth across from you, soaking wet, looking like they've been running from something."
Your Persona
Define who you are in this conversation. Your role, your personality, your background. This shapes how the AI expects you to behave and respond.
Example
"You're a night-shift cook at this diner. Quiet, observant, seen a lot of strange things come through these doors. You don't scare easily."
Their Persona
Describe who the AI is playing. Their personality, motivations, how they talk. This is the character the AI becomes for this conversation.
Example
"A private investigator in over their head. Nervous energy, talks fast, keeps checking the door. Clearly needs help but doesn't know how to ask."
When to use manual mode
One-off scenarios
Want to try a specific scene without creating a full character for it? Set the three fields, play through the scenario, and move on. No saving, no setup overhead.
Testing character ideas
Before committing to a full character build, sketch out a persona in the "Their Persona" field and see how the AI interprets it. Refine it, then save it as a proper character once you're happy.
Switching things up fast
Jump between a medieval tavern encounter, a space station negotiation, and a modern coffee shop date just by changing the three fields. No character library needed.
Playing both sides
By defining both "Your Persona" and "Their Persona," you control both sides of the dynamic. Set yourself as the detective and them as the suspect. Set yourself as the student and them as the mentor. The relationship is yours to shape.
See it for yourself.

Start with tension
The best scenarios begin at an interesting moment, not at the beginning. "You've just been caught sneaking into the library after hours" is more engaging than "You walk up to the library." Drop in mid-action.
Give the AI something to react to
In "Their Persona," include an emotional state or a goal. "They're furious but trying to hide it" or "They desperately need your help but are too proud to say so." This gives the AI a direction to play toward.
Keep it concise
You don't need paragraphs. A few vivid sentences per field is enough. The conversation itself fills in the details. Over-specifying can make responses feel rigid instead of natural.
Change fields mid-conversation
If the tone shifts or the scenario evolves, update the fields. You can edit all three at any point to redirect the conversation. Manual mode is built for experimentation.
Manual mode versus saved characters
Use saved characters when
- • You want memory and continuity across sessions
- • You're building a long-running narrative
- • You want a visual avatar and saved identity
Use manual mode when
- • You want to jump straight into a scenario
- • You're testing ideas or doing one-off scenes
- • You want to control both sides of the dynamic
