Welcome to AnyConversation ("us", "we", "our", or "the Service"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make use of AnyConversation.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Information you provide to us:
- Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your email address. This is used to uniquely identify you, provide access to the Service, communicate with you about your account, and for service-related announcements.
- Payment Information: If you subscribe to our premium services, our third-party payment processor, Stripe, will collect and process your payment information (e.g., credit card details). We do not directly collect, store, or have access to your full payment card details. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by their privacy policy.
Information we collect automatically:
- Usage Data (Non-Conversational): When you use the Service, we may automatically collect certain technical information. This may include your IP address, browser type, device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, country, general location, and information about how and when you use our Service (e.g., message counts for free tier users to enforce limits, features utilized). This information does not reveal your specific identity and is primarily used to maintain the security and operation of our Service, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes to improve the Service.
A Special Note on Conversation Content
Your Conversations Are Private From Us (AnyConversation):
- We, AnyConversation, do not store, log, view, or review the content of your conversations. This includes the scenarios you define, the personas you create, and the messages you exchange with the AI during your chat sessions on our platform.
- This conversational data is processed in real-time to provide the chat service and is managed within your browser's session storage locally on your device during your active session. This data is not transmitted to our servers for storage by AnyConversation.
- Should we introduce features in the future that allow you to explicitly save specific personas or conversation histories to your account, we will provide clear terms about how that saved data is stored, accessed, and protected by AnyConversation at that time.
Interaction with Third-Party AI Service:
- To generate responses, AnyConversation sends the necessary contextual information from your active session (your defined scenario, user persona, bot persona, and recent turn-by-turn message history) to a third-party generative AI API service.
- This data is sent to the third-party AI service solely for the purpose of generating a response to your input within the context of your defined conversation. The use of this data by the third-party AI service is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We select AI service providers that align with industry standards for data handling and privacy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited personal information we collect (such as email, payment status via Stripe, and non-conversational usage data) for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Manage the Service: This includes facilitating account creation, managing your subscription, and ensuring the Service functions correctly.
- To Communicate With You: To send administrative information, such as updates to our terms, conditions, policies, or other service-related announcements.
- To Maintain Security and Integrity: To monitor for suspicious activity, enforce usage limits, and protect the security of our Service.
- For Analytics and Improvement: To understand usage trends (e.g., feature popularity, number of active users) to improve our Service. This analysis does not involve your conversation content.
- To Comply with Legal Obligations: To respond to legal requests, prevent harm, and enforce our terms.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share your information with third parties in these limited circumstances:
- Payment Processing: With Stripe, our payment processor, to handle your subscription payments.
- Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (e.g., hosting, non-conversational analytics). These third parties have access to your personal information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. They do not access conversation content.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, or to protect our rights, users' safety, or the public.
- Business Transfers: If AnyConversation is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred as a business asset.
4. Cookies and Session Storage
Our Service uses session cookies and browser session storage. Session cookies are essential for remembering your login state. Session storage is used to temporarily hold your active conversation data (scenario, personas, message history) on your device during your current chat session for the functioning of the chat interface. This data in session storage is typically erased when you close your browser tab or log out. We do not currently use cookies for cross-site tracking or advertising purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information (email, subscription status) for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide you with services and to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request the deletion of your account by contacting support@anyconversation.com. Upon request, we will take steps to delete your personal account information from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal or operational retention requirements.
As stated clearly, we do not store your conversation content by default.
6. Security of Your Information
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
7. Children's Privacy and Age Restriction
Our Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from Children. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data without your consent, please contact us at support@anyconversation.com. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our active systems and terminate the account.
8. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to access, update, or request deletion of your personal account information. You can do this by contacting us at support@anyconversation.com. We will respond to your request in a reasonable timeframe. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights regarding your data, and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests as required by applicable law.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy, and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy frequently to stay informed of how we are protecting your information.
