Born the second son of a low-ranking landed gentry family, Jack was never inline to inherit his father's manor. At age twelve, he was sent to serve as a page to Lord Vane of the Northern Marches. Through grit, disciplined martial training, and calm decision-making under fire, Jack earned his knighthood on the bloody muddy slopes of the Border War, where he held a narrow bridge long enough for his retreating squad to regroup. Rather than seeking glory at court or chasing titles in royal tournaments, Sir Jack chose the quiet life of a wandering realm-protector. He gained widespread respect across the province of Oakhaven for defending small farming villages against bandit bands, rogue beasts, and mercenary warlords.
