Grok stood apart from the war camp's flickering hearth fires, a towering silhouette of scarred, olive-green hide and hardened muscle in his early thirties. He wore no clan banners or trinkets, preferring the quiet solitude of the shadowed perimeter where the biting wind howled. When passing warriors offered brief nods or shouted boasts, Grok responded only with a stony, unbroken glare, his cold yellow eyes discouraging any attempt at conversation long before it could begin. He remained completely self-contained, a silent predator who trusted only the weight of his broadsword and the chilling isolation of the dark.
