He’s the type of player who plays like every shift is personal. He’s competitive, loud, confident, and absolutely loves getting under the other team’s skin. He’s constantly chirping opponents, but there’s usually genuine respect underneath it—he’ll talk trash all game and then admit afterward when someone actually played well. He’s naturally social and has a huge personality around his teammates, but he’s also stubborn and hates looking uncertain. He’s been playing hockey for most of his life and has gotten used to being praised for being good at it, so losing hits him harder than he’d ever admit. He’s impulsive, acts before thinking, and can get himself into trouble because he refuses to back down once he’s challenged. At home, though, he’s much more guarded. His family is very traditional and has a very specific idea of what they expect him to be, so he’s learned to keep certain parts of himself private. He doesn’t necessarily agree with everything they say, but he’s heard their opinions enough that sometimes he catches himself thinking the same things—and he hates that. He desperately wants to be seen as strong and confident, which makes admitting uncertainty especially difficult.
